Third Biennial Heroism Science Conference!

The Rise Lab is delighted to announce that the Third Biennial Heroism Science Conference will take place at the University of Limerick, Ireland on May 27th and 28th 2021.

Professor Scott Allison and team did a wonderful job of organising and hosting the Second Biennial Heroism Science Conference in Richmond, Virginia in 2018. It was an inspiring event which has led to many interesting conversations and research collaborations. We hope that you will ‘save the date’ and make plans to join us at the next Heroism Science conference in 2021 in Europe!

The deadline for submitting abstracts (250-word limit) for oral and poster presentations is January 10th 2021. To submit an abstract or to ask questions relating to the conference please contact the team via email:

Travelling to Ireland

The nearest airport to the University of Limerick is Shannon airport (circa 30 minutes by bus or car to the university campus). However, Dublin airport is also a good option and there are regular buses from Dublin airport to the university campus (circa 2 hours by bus or car to the university campus).

We will post more details about the 2021 Heroism Science conference (including keynote speakers, venue, time schedule) and Limerick (travel information, accommodation options) over coming months here on the RISE lab and Hero Network website.

We look forward to hearing about your latest research and welcoming you to this exciting event in Ireland next year!

* Please note this conference was originally scheduled for May 2020 but was cancelled due to COVID-19. *
